28/04/10 - Paul and William Hague visit Unicorn Centre Hemlington

Conservative candidate for Middlesbrough South & East Cleveland, Paul Bristow, and Shadow Foreign Secretary William Hague visited the Unicorn Centre for disabled riders.  The Centre provides riding therapy and learning opportunities for a wide range of disabled and disadvantaged children, young people and adults within the Tees Valley and surrounding areas.

At present the Centre offers this valuable therapy to over 170 people each week. The Centre aims to offer it's service in a safe, supportive, inclusive and fun environment, which allows each individual to achieve his or her full potential. In order to deliver this the Centre relies on a dedicated group of qualified staff and volunteers, not forgetting it's 20 wonderful horses and ponies.

Speaking after the visit, Paul Bristow, stated:

"When I previously visited the centre I was greatly impressed with the facilities and admired what the staff and volunteers were offering riders.  As an MP for a neighbouring constituency I wanted to show William this fantastic centre on our doorstep.

"The centre manager, Claire Pitt, and the rest of the staff and volunteers do a fantastic job and I greatly appreciate everything they do for our community."
