I promised to freeze the mayoral tax precept, and I’m keeping that promise. At a time when the Government is raising taxes on working people despite promising not to, I’m doing the opposite: protecting residents from yet another increase.
I’m also delivering free parking in Peterborough and in the market towns across Huntingdonshire. This is about backing our high streets, boosting local businesses, and making it easier for people to shop and spend locally.
And we know that when residents speak up, it works. Last year, when my predecessor pushed for a precept hike, we submitted hundreds of responses to the consultation. And together, we stopped it.
Now this new consultation on my budget is open, and I want to hear from you again. Your voice helped shape the direction of this region before, and it can do the same now.
If you want your views formally submitted, please provide your name and address so we can include them in the response to the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority. We will include your name and address in the response to the consultation.
Together, we can keep taxes down, support our towns, and get Cambridgeshire moving.
