I have recently joined the European Scrutiny Committee in Parliament - and this week we were asking the Foreign Secretary about a deal with Spain about the border.
As always - Spain and the EU are cutting up rough about the border and using it as a reason to reassert their claim over the British Overseas Territory.
They are proposing to put Spanish border guards in the Airport - citing the similar arrangements at St Pancras when you travel to France. I pointed out the difference is that France don’t claim St Pancras station as their sovereign territory….
Devil will be in the detail. But any agreement must make clear that Gibraltar is and will always remain British sovereign territory.
