Peterborough mental health summit

An excellent mental health summit and discussion with young people from #Peterborough schools, Citizens UK and NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG.

Issues raised were accessibility of mental health services, awareness, waiting times, funding, and the impact of COVID.  With the support of these young people, I have promised to ask questions and raise these issues in the House of Commons.

The debate around Covid has not focussed enough on the impact it is having on young people.  As well as hampering their education, these restrictions are prevting them from playing sport, seeing friends and doing what young people do.  It’s preventing them from reaching their potential and affecting their mental health.  It’s robbing them of a year of their lives.

The young people who organised this summit make me #proudofPeterborough.
