Action on Shoplifting

Good on the Coop for demanding that the police take shoplifting seriously.

I went to the Coop on Mayors Walk to discuss this.

Delighted the Policing Minister Chris Philp wants a new zero-tolerance approach to tackling shoplifting.

Save Werrington Fields

It’s devastating that after everyone’s work the Council are proceeding with their appalling decision to fence off Werrington Fields.

The facts are these:

Play Area - Marchment Square

Been contacted by local residents regarding unfinished work at the children’s play area near Marchment Square.  There is lots residents want Weston Homes to deal with.

This is the play area I take my children to.

I shall be asking for a meeting to deal with all these issues.

Save Werrington Fields Update

In black and white the Secretary of State makes it clear a decision to fence all, some or none of Werrington Fields is a matter entirely for the local Council.  And it also confirms the Council were told this three weeks ago!

Peterborough Energy Transition Centre

Put simply - lots of high paid, high skill jobs for #Peterborough.

Today I launched the business case for this centre in Peterborough, we are competing with Texas!  It could mean 9,000 jobs, and really put our City on the map.

A New Vision For The City

We need a new vision for the City.  One that builds on the £100 million plus we have already secured together for the City.

Speed up NHS Access to Medicines and Treatments

I want NHS patients to have access to the latest therapies and medicines.

I asked a question in the House of Commons about how the MHRA (licences medicines) and NICE (evaluates cost effectiveness) can work together to tackle delays.

GLADCA Needs Certainty

Peterborough recently celebrated 50 years of Gladca - an organisation that has done so much for our City.

But the Council have suggested that they may auction off their home to the highest bidder.

What do You Want The Police to Focus on?

I met with the new Superintendent in #Peterborough Ben Martin.  We talked about his priorities for our City.

We have more police officers than ever before in Cambridgeshire.  But what do we want them to do?

Let me know in my crime survey👇

Bridge Closures a Disaster For Local People

Mark my words! If we don’t open these bridges as soon as possible, they will remain closed for the foreseeable.

It has been a disaster for local people. When will these councillors understand that they are in charge?  Put residents first and challenge the officers.
