Yesterday MPs debated a Bill introduced by Labour MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle that could have:
- Criminalised religious leaders for offering pastoral care
- Had huge implications for free speech
- Criminalised parents who try to protect ‘trans-identified’ children from pursuing medical and surgical interventions
Abusive conversion therapy is already illegal. Discrimination against people on the basis of sexuality is already illegal.
The Bill - that thankfully did not pass - attempted to embed elements of gender theory into law.
